YES Heal

Let's Talk Podcast

Breaking the silence.
Finding healing together.

A youth-led mental health podcast empowering Black immigrant youth in Canada to speak, heal, connect, and build a more resilient community.

Our Vision & Purpose

Let's talk about it.

Black immigrant youth in Canada encounter unique mental health hurdles, including intergenerational cultural conflict, systemic barriers, immigration trauma, and widespread community stigma surrounding mental illness.

Often, seeking help is misconstrued as lack of faith or vulnerability, leaving youth isolated.

Through real conversations with youth and mental health professionals, we are breaking the silence and encouraging healing within the community.

Core Pillars

A space to speak, heal,
and connect.

Honest Conversations

Create room for youth to share experiences and feel seen, heard, and supported.

Culturally Safe Support

Encourage youth to seek help and connect with mental health professionals.

Community Resilience

Reduce stigma and build a stronger sense of belonging within the community.

As a Black immigrant and mental health professional in training, I bring both lived experience and academic insight to this work.

I have seen many friends struggle in silence. This project is driven by a desire to create a space where people feel seen, heard, and supported — and to contribute to building a more resilient community in Canada.
